Upgrade Ya

I'm having a great weekend shopping with my sister and taking advantage of this tax free weekend.

I hit up The Limited and got this cute grey sweater for $49.50. Here's a pic of me striking my best model pose.

I also got that chunky red necklace at The Limited on sale for $9.99!

Grey is this fall's new alternative to black so I made sure to get plenty of it. I also got this grey skirt and grey sweater! The skirt is from Target and the sweater is from The Limited.

My sister also got tons of stuff! She's a college student so she's on a tighter budget than I am, but she got great outfits for going to class in and hanging out in. I'm almost jealous that she is going to have such funky stuff to wear!

As you can see. I got her the same chunky necklace that I got for myself!

Earlier this week, a work friend (the financial aid chick who is leaving), said to me, "...so when are you going to start [Director's] makeover?" Director's look is a complete mess....as I mentioned in an earlier post, she dresses like this is her house. In dowdy colors and big, oversized clothes. Those comments got me to thinking about celeb makeovers. Not every celeb arrived on the scene looking fab. So,I decided to introduce a new section to my blog....Upgrade Ya...which will show a timeline of how some of our favorite celebs got to where they are today.

My first one is...drumroll please....Gwen Stefani! She's always had great style, but she has defintely evolved over time from a street punk look to a more sophisticated yet colorful fashionista. Let's take a look at how she's progressed.

Here is Gwen towards the beginning of her career with her band No Doubt. She defintiely has style although it's grungy....pink messy hair, revealing tops. Being the only female in the band, she obviously wanted her presence known.

Another No Doubt period. You can tell that her look was created to fit in with the guys yet establish that she is a woman!

I love when Gwen gives us that ghetto chic look. The obvious black liner around the lip is awesome. Absolutely a beauty faux pas, but her deliberate breaking of the "rules" is so wrong that it's right!

My favorite picture of Gwen. This is the beginning of her solo career. Her style becomes a little softer yet maintains its edge. I looooove that black L.A.M.B hoodie!

A very pregnant Gwen with her hubby. She is rocking her own L.A.M.B dress. I hope that when I'm preggers I can look just as fly.

Gwen's Harper's Bazarre recent cover. When you've hit such a big magazine you know your style game is on point!

O, forgot to mention, someone else has put in their 2 weeks noticed. She is the financial aid administrative assistant. I knew I could feel a resignation coming.....well, she's also pregnant and about to drop her 1st child (a girl) so I don't blame her for wanting to leave.

Have a fab weekend!
